Does anyone have experience buying boxwoods online? I'm looking to buy...well gad it could end up being hundreds to do a formal english garden with both a low maze and to edge my son's play ground as well as the knot garden. I would like an excellent price, but also a great product and so far, I'm about 50/50 with plants I've ordered online unfortunately.

check out the link ... 3 inch pot.. means small plants... but you have to start somewhere .... buy a few extra.. if you plant 100 .. one would expect to lose a few ... dont you think ... there will be some tricks to planting.. should you get that far ... insuring any wrapping roots are cut or teased out ... it might help to know where you are ... ken

I'm zone 8 in western Washington ken. I ordered five from them to see how they look but the price is very good. Thank you so much! I have a wonderful Englishman who will be doing the planting so I'll leave that up to him. He's done many knot gardens so he's used to working with the shrub thank goodness :) We may have a funny little group of little tiny plants for some time :) But it will eventually grow into what we want. I actually want to start from smaller beginnings so we can work to keep them compack in the knot area of the garden and narrow in the area of the maze. So much to plant...so little time LOL

I order unusual, exotic (mostly tropicals) on eBay all the time. But pretty much get anything common at L's or HD's locally. Are you restricted to on line ordering for lack of local availability at garden centers? Big box stores can do specialty orders for you at no extra SHIPPING cost (often more expensive than the plant itself when ordering on line)--if their suppliers carry that plant. By the way, I love the Dwarf English varieties--very formal and elegant (and deer resistant if that's a local threat).
