| Does 'Ruby Glow' ever have mostly yellow fall foliage? I bought what was marked as a Ruby Glow at a nursery for a client of mine as I was immediately drawn/attracted to the shrub form/architecture and at the time, it's blue-green leaves which were turning brilliant yellow with a tiny bit of orange, but in all, yellow.
Research online after the fact shows that the autumn color for 'Ruby Glow' is usually red/copper/maroon. Could it be that this was a mislabeled shrub? It was next to a bunch of Hamamelis virginiana which have similar yellow leaves but is not in flower yet, which many of the virginiana were/are and they seem to be a bit more clingy to their leaves. Any clarification? I think it's beautiful shrub, but I want to know if I actually have what I think I have. |
