Transplanted Pyracantha..Now I know I wasn't supposed to, right?

I have always had good luck with transplanting shrubs so it never crossed my mind that there are some that cannot be transplanted. I moved a Pyracantha about a month ago and it is looking sick. I couldn't tell if it would be dropping leaves now anyway or if it was from the move. After googling for help I see so many posts saying if you transplant a Pyracantha it dies. Is there any hope do you think? I'll find out next spring but I maybe there is someone who knows of a successful transplant? It's about 5 feet tall and more-or-less espalied. 95% of the leaves are browning and falling off. It produced lots of orange berries this year that the Robins gorged on before I moved it. It was stripped clean of all but one bunch of berries before I moved it.

Thanks.
