Unknown Shrub?

Could anyone help me to identify a shrub that has tiny flowers/seedpods that begin as white and pink in late August to September and to a deep pink to almost red by late October. Pictures are posted below. Also, leaves change to yellow in October.

Looks like a form of Japanese knotweed, Polygonum cuspidatum. a non-native invasive plant that has been cultivated as an ornamental - especially the pink form..

Any chance of posting a close-up photo of leaves and seedpods/fruit? It's not a knotweed and I have my suspicions on what it might be but cannot confirm based on these photos.

That is Persicaria 'Crimson Beauty', a gorgeous, non invasive relative of the wildly invasive Japanese knotweed. I have had one for 6 or 7 years, and not one seedling or root movement, and this in sandy, light soil. However, mine, in zone 6 begins bloom in early September and the whole show is over by the end of the month. Fully zapped by frost by now.

Should have added that it's not a shrub but a perennial.

I don't think the Persicaria genus name is still being used. From what I can tell, it is considered Polygonum cuspidatum 'Crimson Beauty' now. Considered by many to be a clumping form and not invasive.
