juniper are conifers... there is a conifer forum if you are interested in such ...

note how poorly planted they were... whomever put them a foot or two from the cement.. didnt understand ... the vast potential the little babes they bought .. had ... [boy thats some goodly english.. lol ..]

the usual alternative.. is that they were planted about 2 foot from the foundation ...

there might be slower growing Js more attuned to a planting site ... if that is why you are asking ...

A hedge I wouldn't trim at all, I love the form of it.

Phitzers get pretty wide. Rarely are they planted with enough room to grow unpruned. Gold Coast is a smaller version, but even it will get 12 ft wide over time. I have one that did.
It looks like a Phitzer to me from what little I can see. The picture is pretty dark.

Yup, some Pfitzer or other....great plants, only suffering from perceived overuse by some designers. I like too the idea of an essentially unpruned screen with these things. A little hand-pruner work can keep them in bounds more or less indefinitely. I find such pruning to be oddly therapeutic-of what, I'm not sure!

The vivid green color - as it appears in the photo - is wrong for Pfitzer juniper, as is the short branches (assuming it has not been pruned repeatedly and recently) except for certain compact cultivars, these being usually yellow foliage forms. That's why I suggested the one I did previously. But the photos here aren't sharp or close enough to do more than talk about what it might be.
