Where do you live, first of all?
How long have these hollies been in the ground?
Could this be 'Dwarf Burford' holly?

It could be delayed response to last winter's cold damage, underwatering (if you had a dry year), or severe scale infestation, response to an herbicide, overly wet location, road salt damage, or something else entirely!

Thanks, they are 15 ft tall. Live in Mid-Atlantic, VA. Not sure how long in ground unfortunately.

We do have a company coming monthly for the grass in the yard - fertilizer, testing soil, etc.

If 15 feet tall, then likely 'Nellie Stevens'.

Mid-Atlantic doesn't narrow it down much! I was sort of hoping for a City/State.

Ok, if you are in an outlying suburb -- way out -- then it could have been winter damage.

If nearer beltway, (zone7) then less likely.

But I've seen road salt damage on Nellies.
