Hi all. This plant is about 3 1/2' tall. I believe it is tropical. The leaves have the same appearance all year, and also have a velvet texture. The plant features orange blooms that are not fragrant.

It looks like a variegated "flowering maple" (not really a maple, genus Abutilon.) I found references to 2 variegated forms, Abutilon pictum 'Thompsonii' and Abutilon hybridum 'Variegatum,' in a short google search, so you can probably figure out from photos which variety of Abutilon you have. Many varieties have plain green leaves.

I second the nomination. Needs a bigger pot.

Interesting that you both come up with the same ID. Although the plant doesn't have a name tag, I was told what is was at the nursery. Abutilon does not ring a bell. Plant will not be repotted as I am in Massachusetts and I need to keep it small enough to bring indoors. The thing was looking great outside even as the temperatures plunged.

Abutilon pictum ‘Thompsonii’

I stand corrected, who was I to doubt the knowledgeable folks at GW. The plant is; Abutilon pictum 'Gold Dust'.
Thank you for your help!
