| Wondering if anyone is growing either or both of these coralberry shrubs?
What the differences between growth, size, shape and color would be. Does one have bluer foliage, smaller leaves, more uniform shape, more abundant berries? Do you have a preference? Thanks, Flora |

| Amethyst = 'Kordes' is a pink one, marketed as being superior. Do you have a cultivar name for the other pink one? Multiple pink Symphoricarpos are on the market. What I notice for myself is that they tend to be dirty pinks to my eye, rather than clean and clear ones - I would buy in fruit if possible. |

| Thanks bboy. The only other pink I've seen is pink = 'Maureen', which states size as 3x3 with improved berry abundance over the white. I agree choosing when in fruit might be the best way to go. I wonder if they are as prolific growers as the white species is? |

| White would be snowberry (Symphoricarpos albus). The eastern form is shorter than the western var. laevigatus, which is probably what you are thinking of. Most garden selections will probably also be less vigorous than var. laevigatus. At this time of the year there may be stock at outlets you can view, or older specimens with fruit in local display gardens such as UBC, Van Dusen, Horticulture Centre of the Pacific. |
