Winter watering for newly planted shrubs?

Hello. I am in zone 8b. I was wondering, during the winter months, for newly plants shrubs/trees if we still need to water about 3 times a week as I was told?
We have been getting plenty of rain lately like once a week and I just want to make sure I don't drown my shrubs.
(Wax Myrtles transplanted about 4 weeks ago)
Thanks!!!

It's been a fairly wet winter so far in the East (North and South). Being given advice like "water three times a week" is just pain silly. I would go easy on additional waterings in the current wet and stormy weather pattern. Good luck--wax myrtles are nice shrubs!

you water.. when your plants NEED WATER ...

insert finger to second knuckle ... and water when the soil is drying or hot [not all that likely in winter] ...

IMHO.. more plants fail from improper watering than anything else ... and too much water i usually worse than too little ... you can rot all the roots right off the plant ....

watering is an art.. not a science.. meaning it is NOT something you do by a calender ....

be the plant.. water it when it needs water.. ooohhhmmmmm

good luck
