clean antique dirt

Thought some of you guys might get a laugh out of this Craigslist posting. I've never heard the term antique dirt before but it's obvious someone has a sense of humor. I'll post the message here as the link may expire when all the retro dirt has been taken! LOL

"This antique dirt has only been used by a little old house since the early 1900's. It's so retro - its nowtro!

Now you can be the proud owner of this only slightly soiled soil that has been lovingly screened of any rocks larger than the palm of your hand. Could be used for back-filling, leveling your horse's paddock or even creating an instant "antique" garden bed.

Think of the possibilities! You could be the envy of your neighbours when they see you pull up with a pickup full of this delightful dirt. Two loads have already made their transition to a new home (may it rest in peace) and I must say I watched it go with mixed emotions. Such dirt is this, it leaves its mark on you while quietly going about its dirty business.

If you prefer, I can arrange to load and drop-off either a pickup truck full at a time (about half a yard) or, if you want a larger amount delivered, can bring a trailer (approx. 1+ yard). Price for this service is negotiable depending on where its going but again - the soil itself is FREE when you load it yourself!)

You can shovel your own and take it away from 225 E. 29th in N. Van. Please call ahead and let me know when you'll be there so I can tell the owners to expect you. It's all in the front yard for easy removal, just back into the driveway. I've tarped it to ward off the rain (our dirt is still sensitive to direct rainfall) so it will shovel easily. Please, be careful of the hedge! Don't worry, though, the hedge is very low and easy to shovel over into a small pickup. As a bonus, I'll even do my best to be there to help you load it if our schedules work."
