Electric Indoor Composter

I was wondering if anyone has used, or heard of anyone who has used the Nature Mills Indoor Composter. The unit stays in the garage and gets heated and aerated automatically. Compost is ready in 11 days.

Anyone heard of this before...I'm thinking of buying one.

Thanks for any replies.

Hmmm....looks interesting enough. I'd still be worried about the smell and accidentally dumping the whole mess when I try to take it out to the garden....but that's just me....I'm a bit of a klutz.

Here is a link that might be useful: NatureMill Composter

I saw a couple of these on eBay, one much cheaper than offered for on the NatureMill website.
Does look tempting for winter kitchen scraps....hmmm

I was scared to follow the link, but I did anyway. I thought you guys were talking about one of the humanure green toilets.. and I can see why Val would be scared about accidentally dumping it and smell.. lol...

This thing looks kinda cool but I think I'll keep doing it the outdoor way. I couldn't put a dead squirrel in one of those. ;)

Loid, the dead squirrel count is now 2.

How did I miss this thread?

Geri, I bet you could get a squirrel into one them things if you chopped it up into bitty pieces first. :-)

There was an entire thread about this composter on the discussion side.

Its very expensive... I would say its a frivolous expense for most people. Considering you could make perfectly fine compost in a garbage can in the garage, for about 10 bucks.

Unless you live in a high rise apartment, I can't see anyone needing a gadget like that to compost...

I guess beauty (and frivolous) is in the eye of the beholder and everything is relative. A garage could be seen as frivolous to a person with no vehicle. :-)
