Not LLoyd here but congratulations on the delivery. You sought out the product and got it delivered. I hope it was good value to you in cost and if it came from a municipal source I bet you in the long run saved them tax dollars from further processing. Hope you are on their list for annual visit. Rest of your composting tools look ready for the task also... Great New Year to ya.

Actually, these were delivered free of charge by a guy who is cleaning the leaves from a very large tract of land and had no idea what to do with them. It was win/win for us. He has to get rid of them, and I wanted them. He has found that it is much faster for him to get them into a windrow and bale them. The bales are dense and heavy! He even off-loaded most of them for me because in his mind, I was doing him a tremendous favor. This man drove over forty miles to bring these leaves to me. I have promised him some honey strawberry jam next spring and some fresh green beans.

You did good. The stuff is out there if people search, ask, and work with the source. My source has given me about 90 dump truck loads FREE of old compacted leaves. I have my own truck though... the source needs the site cleaned up... They load free, I haul at my cost only then I clean up, REHEAT, screen and sell, use, and give away some really good stuff. Used about 35 have about 60 on hand to screen this spring. Son in law made a 1 minute video on youtube but it has my company name and phone number on it so I better not put it on here but think its pretty cool. Your source is a blessing for you but you are a blessing for him. I wish more of both you and he were helping the environment..... Great find and thank you for sharing.

I would love to know what you use for the composting. What kind of framework is that?

Daguvanuh-it sounds like you have a pretty good thing going to. I am not even close to having the time or space to do anything largescale like that. lovestogrow - The framework is made from industrial shelving panels that was heading to the landfill. They are incredibly heavy and make a pretty big footprint, but they should last a nice long time. I stood them up on end and fastened them together with carabiner clips so they could open from any side. It works well for me.
