partially composted bark?

In a recipe for potting soil it says partially composted bark. How do you isolate the bark and retrieve it from the part done compost, with other stuff in it? Would it work to add nitrogen (blood meal ) and moisten it and keep it damp for a while instead of mixing it with other compost, in other words leaving it seperated and using the nitrogen to work at it. I would sift it but the bunny poo wouldn,t go through the holes either. There wouldn't be any heat that way though.

Partially composted bark is bark that has been wind rowed and turned for a few weeks to a few months before it was packaged. You can use uncomposted bark in container soil recipes, but you may need to add a little extra N to account for some N immobilization.

Okay that seems simple enough. I think it was one of your recipes Tapla.
