My house juices a lot and eats a lot of veggies. That leaves behind a LOT of pulp and scraps.

The pulp is perfect for composting or using as fertilizer.

If you can provide a 5-Gallon paint with cover (or just a similar container that won't leak and keeps odor down) then you can have the pulp free of charge.

Very interesting, bi11me! I wish I'd known yesterday, when I was down in that neck of the woods. It's not impossible later this week, though. The browns I just tossed into the compost bin could make good use of them.

So...does that mean you're local to me? I'm in Medford.

I'm in Maine, but I have a daughter at MIT, so I get into Beantown pretty regularly. Delivering some sunchokes there next week. I usually come home with a truckload of pallets.

MIT and sunchokes

Hey, I work at MIT (and I'm an alum). I don't suppose you want to bring some sunchokes for me? They're on my to-get list for the garden. :-)

Will do. Once I get all my logistics lined up I'll make arrangements to meet you. Typically I drive down on Thursday afternoon, do my deliveries, take the girl out to dinner, and head back Friday AM. Shoot me an e-mail and tell me how much space you want to plant so I'll know how much to bring.

Earth sciences department?

bi11me, you are awesome!

Actually, Computer Science & Engineering. My husband, who is an astronomy & physics teacher, and not a gardener at all, was the Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences guy! Maybe I missed my calling?

I do walk by a cute little community garden on campus between the parking garage and my office, though.
