| Are they too fiberous? I talking about dried out brown ones, not green. I am always on the look-out for good brown material, but I don't want to use things that will take years to break down. |

| I never tried it, I have a sad Mexican palm, but the leaves are all sharp and dusty and awful. I put them in city wide compost. Maybe if you have a chipper shredder, you could grind them up? It could work that way. The leaves seem to be filled with spider webs. Maybe my palm tree has spider mite? It would be awful to have more spider mites and eggs in my compost. |

| I have composted pslm fronds with no problems as long as they are chopped up into reasonable pieces. Dried fronds break down about as fast as dry ornamental grasses. |
