How satisfying

I started composting last May (hubby built me a 3-bin compost system for Mother's Day). I have been dilligently adding to it everyday since, keeping the pile cooking until New Year's when I left it to cure, and started on bin #2. Anyway, I just took out more grass to make a new bed and I was able to use my beautiful compost to top of the beds! What a great feeling! And it was free.
No one in my house is too impressed, so I thought I'd share here. Thanks to all the regular posters who've helped me achieve this.

I really don't think anyone who hasn't experienced compost from start to finish can really appreciate it's awesome beauty.

I'm pretty sure when I put the shovel into my very first compost, my blood pressure dropped =:) Yes, what a great feeling !

I actually got a response from the famous jonhughes!? I'm beginning to feel like a member in the club. I love your raised bed gardens/compost system (you were actually my inspiration with my latest raised bed--although I went with Lowe's cobblestones instead of the concrete blocks because my hubby wouldn't do the digging unless I "chose" the cobblestones. I am tempted to take a trip across to the south side to see your set-up in person...very impressive/inspiring.
Nutsaboutflowers, I think I felt my blood pressure drop significantly, also. And everyday when I'm out adding & stirring my pile, I feel it drop, too. Of course, I don't have all the fancy machines, so I have to stir it with a pitchfork...

Yep, You are an official Compost Whacko, of course you have to send me a five gallon bucket so I can personally certify it,
but I am sure your compost will pass with flying colors.;-)
