| Hello everyone I am a long time browser of this site but this is my first time posting as i couldnt find a real answer to this anywhere(mostly because i didn't even know where to start looking)
But here is my question. I have a 5 gallon bucket with an airstone in bottom. I was thinking of throwing in a scoop of worm castings(or any other manure you guys think would work), 5 gallons of water, and as a "catalyst" maybe a couple of teaspoons of some liquid organic fertilizer (http://www.hydro-organics.com/home/index.php?productID=675)(any other suggestions appreciated) my logic being that the molasses will feed the microbes, and as the population grows it will feed off the kelp and guanos that are in the nutrient. I am assuming I would want to water this down to not burn my plants, but I am thinking this would increase soil bio-life, and feed the plants since most of the nutrients in the fert would be broken down. Then dump the leftover onto my compost pile to further introduce microbes. Any feedback or criticism is welcome,

This article from Fine Gardening magazine on "Brewing Compost Tea", written by Dr. Elaine Ingham might be of some help.

What kind of water? Fresh tap water, old tap water, rain water? I just use rainwater, compost, and a ounce of fish emulsion. Each day for four days I take out a quart and put it into a gallon jug. I have a bait air pump and airstone. The mix is stirred at least once a day. Worm composting should be an excellent type for compost tea.

most likely tap water. unfortunately my tap water has gotten increasingly worse and now the ppm is sitting at around 200. With that said I am thinking a couple tablespoons of Dr. Earths tomato fertilizer(has kelp and other goodies plus 7 strains of microbes) and maybe a couple tablespoons of molasses. Robert how much compost do you put in your mix?

Trying to make aerated tea first time. I used tap water, ran two bubblers in the tap water for nearly an hour before adding worm castings and unsulfered molasses. It's been two days now, starting to look like miso soup. Is it ready or should it go a third day?
