Another soil testing question

Anybody know of a "reasonable" place to get my soil tested?? The county AG no longer does it. They'll test my plants for free but not my soil. Go figure.

I checked with a local guy and he wants $75!! Sounds kind of steep to me.

I'm thinking of just getting the minimal test done; since, no matter what, the avocado tree is going in THAT spot. My concern is really just the ph. I can add whatever nutrients might be lacking and the plot sits up above the rest of my yard so drainage shouldn't be an issue.

I've got one of those cheap ph testing kits from the nursery (tablets dissolved in distilled water) that I use for general(not so accurate) testing. But, it only goes in increments of one half and the colors of corresponding ph's sometimes blend. I've heard the probes are notoriously inaccurate so I've never invested in one. Anybody know a CHEAP way of testing ACCURATE ph?

Thanks

Kevin
