Red Wiggler eggs are...moving?

To my great surprise, I noticed about a week ago that there were thousands and thousands of these little tiny white pods in my compost.

Here's a link to a picture of them: http://www.flickr.com/photos/58408537@N04/5578839810/

But then today when I went to check on the "eggs", I noticed several were moving. Like they were crawling...so surely they're little mites or something? It's just cold still in Ohio, I can't imagine there would be bugs! I'm very new to composting-this is my first bin and I've only had it for little over a month-did my red wigglers make babies or are they some kind of creature that could be harmful to the compost? Thanks!!

I couldn't see your link, but I'm pretty sure that red wigglers eggs range from caramel colored to dark brown. They're lemon shaped. Slugs lay perfectly round white eggs. At least Maine slugs do.

Not all mites are bad.
