What is the pH of organic orange peels? I found no answer to this on a search engine.

Probably pretty low, but unless you have bushels of them you can dump them on the compost heap with everything else.

The peel has a bitter oil and plant fiber ... very little acid. As NY Gardener said, just toss them on the pile.

Even bushels of them, although running them through a shredder is a good idea. They can petrify. I have one orange that has been 'composting" for several years and never changes.

I want to know as a soil amendment how it would alter pH

It won't alter pH much, or for very long. They are NOT very acidic.

Even pine needles barely budge soil pH.

Vegetative waste has little to no affect on soil pH whether orange, lemon, lime, peels, or pine needles, oak leaves (Maple leaves, 3.2 pH, are more acidic than Oak 3.7 pH). It seems difficult at best to get a good, reliable answer to this question since I find information about the pH of orange peels ranging from 6.0 to 3.5 on the 'net.
