What to do with peanut oil?

I have inherited 20 gallons of very old, used peanut oil. Dad used it for frying fish, turkeys, and whatever. Can it be used in the garden, on my fruit trees, or anything? Since it is organic, it will break down in to something safe and useful, I would think? I'm cleaning out my deceased Dads barn and stuff, finding all kinds of things that he saved. More to be discovered!

Host an oil wrestling match? sorry, I'm not very helpful, but I couldn't resist that one. I don't know about using it for plants, but I'm sure you could sell/give it to someone who makes biodiesel.

You could use it to protect any old wood decks or fences. I use old cooking oil on my deck. It may not last as long as other protectants but better than wasting it. You could also spray weeds with it in the hot afternoon sun and watch them wither. It should also keep new weeds from sprouting kind of like a pre-emergent.

Why not put it on Craigs List? Might be someone out there with just the need for it.

I asked some people at work and one guy said his brother wants it. He makes his own biodiesel!

While oils are natural they do not break down very fast. That's why we can drill a hole in the ground and find crude oil after millions of years. Gardening uses are limited. You might use it to repel bugs like neem oil is used. Might work.

The guys brother came by work today to pick up the oil in his diesel truck. He thanked me and said "come smell my truck". It smelled like french fries! LOL I'm glad that it was not wasted! Wish Dad could have been there..... He never wasted anything.

Now it's going to smell like "fish, turkeys, and whatever". Better than sulfur I guess.
