| I do not like how my plants in the ground are performing, I did not ammend the soil with enough organic matter or SRF and I would like to add some composted Steer Manure that I have. It is definitely well composted, it smells and looks like dirt with some grass in it and it has been in the bag for a year or so.
Am I free to put a good layer of this compost around my plants? Should I worry about touching it to the stems? I will be mulching over with straw, but I would like to add a layer of the manure if it will not burn the plants. thanks much! |

| If what you have in the bag smells good and is supporting growth, you have no worries. I've done what you describe many times, with nothing but positive effects. Gary |
