After all this rain, I've got big mushrooms (unidentifiable to me) in my lawn. Is it safe to add them to the compost pile?

I add them without any ill effects that I have ever seen.

If it grows & rots then you can compost it.
Yes it is safe.

Compost them, mulch mow them back where they came from. Mushrooms, toadstools, etc. are not a problem as once thought. Their presence in a lawn just indicates you have some fungal activity that is digesting woody material in the soil and these are the seed stalks of that colony.
Once upon a time, through ignorance, people thought that since some plant diseases were fungal that all fungi was bad and needed to be eliminated. Today we know that fungi, as well as bacteria, are necessary to keep us from being buried in our own waste.
