| The squirrels never mess with anything in my garden. My only problem has been deer, which I think the motion detector sprinklers have solved that problem.
Last fall I used my mower and chipper/vac to suck up all of my oak and hickory leaves. I spread them very thick on my garden and didn't turn them under. I normally do. I laid off rows with my tractor. I had to go back with a rake and pull some of it out of the rows to plant. The squirrels have been digging in the leaves to get the nuts and uprooting the occasional sprig of grass and/or weed! They haven't touched a veggie yet! |
