| Hi all,
I want to fill 16" deep raised beds for a vegetable garden.
Composted yard waste from the county ( has uncomposted wood chips ).
How would I put these together to make a good raised bed soil? Thanks

| I am to understand that everything , but the wood chips are composted. If that is the case, then mix everything up & spread in the bed. I would loosen up the soil under the bed, about 6-12 inches (15-30 cm) to improve drainage. |

| Ok, but how much of each? What ratio? |

| Hi Joeworm, If you have unlimited amount of each product: 33% Composted yard waste from the county ( has uncomposted wood chips ). 33% Aged horse manure with sand ( sand was used to clean the stalls ). 33% Cow manure. Mix them all up real good.... Then use a 3" layer of your Pine bark fines as a deep mulch for water retention and weed suppression.

| Thanks. Interesting setup you've got there. Those beds look to be at least 24" deep? |

| Yeah, Plus "double dug" to further accentuate the positive ;-) You can check out my You-Tube video's on the link below.. |

| All I have is slow dial-up connection so watching the videos isn't an option. Maybe I can check them out at a friends with their high speed connection. |
