| Over the years I have observed too many branches/trees going to the landfill from town and always wanted to do something about it. Finally found a chipper that was cheap enough yet could do the job I wanted it to. The company I bought it from tried to chip plastics with it, didn't work well. It has about 20 minutes total time on it.
Now to get set up to have all the branches brought out.
Yee Haw!!

Congratulations, Lloyd. I went for a big MackIssic shredder-chipper a few years ago. Needed to replace an aging pickup, but the MacK took precedence. Great decision, if compost is among your passions. Enjoy your new machine! Gary

For a wild Fathers' day celebration, BH an' me just spent the day whacking back a 300 yd badly over-grown honeysuckle hedge and carting off umpty-gazillion branches and what not to dump down in the swamp. Which now looks like Mt. Honeysuckle, fading green as it sinks away. And even though the Bible tells me not to, I envy those who have chippers. I mentioned this to BH, hoping it sinks in come next Fathers' Day.

Nice addition to your machinery. Lloyd - Could you please clone yourself over and over, and send one of you to various locations in each province? You do good work =:) Oh, and we could use quite a few more of Jon, too.

The town is putting out notices for basically a drop-off availability every second Saturday starting in July. We'll see how it goes and adjust accordingly. Jon, I used to have friends until I took up hot composting. If you're wondering, it takes about six months in a hot pile. ;-) Lloyd

And I thought I had chipper envy when the guy across the road showed up with a chipper that goes on the back of his Kubota! Yours is bigger and better! Mind you, I still think I should warn our neighbour that if his goes missing, my kleptomania might be at work and he should check the back end of our Kubota...

Town finally sent out a notice with the July water bills, first loads of branches showed up this morning. If all goes well we will chip these up tomorrow. jolj - We use a 1030 Case tractor to run the chipper. Bit of an overkill on the horsepower perhaps but it's what we have. Lloyd

These get dumped on the field, or composted first?

I'm going to use some of them to put down on a trail for the yard trimmings delivery trucks to access a field. The town wants some for landscaping as well and the rest I am going to use for composting. I don't think I will put them directly out onto a field. Lloyd
