| Euphorbia leaves are turning yellow with patches of brown.
Leaves are curling up. They look wilted and burnt out. The stem seems fragile and week. Have been giving water once a week since April last week.
For the last two three days I watered the plant regularly thinking that it needed more water since the heat has set in (June 1-2nd week).
Meanwhile, there were Aphids on the flowers and on some leaves.
But now the leaves are in sad state.
Is it shallow watering?
Please help with needed remedy.

Hi hemashree, I'm sure it burnt by the spray. I met this case before but not on Euphorbia plants. You may try to kill aphids by hand, don't use chemical fertilizer too much and wait for new leaves. Good luck.

Hi GardenerBlog, Thanks for the reply. I guess it is the issue. Is there any hope for the plant?

You are overwatering the plant. Hardy euphorbias are very xeric plants and do not require much watering. Allow the plant to dry fully before rewatering. If it is outdoors and receiving rainfall, it may not need much additional watering at all. Also the old flowering stems should be cut back to the base of the plant - not just removing the flowerhead at the top of the stem. Once a stem/branch has flowered it will not reflower again and eventually dies off.....you may also be seeing the signs of this die back.

Euphorbia amygdaloides is a hardy woodland native of Britain and Europe. That gives you a clue as to its preferred conditions. Cool, slightly shady and the kind of soil conditions you get under trees. It is actually plant recommended for dry shade. It looks as if yours is in a pot on a balcony. Your zone is 9. I'm afraid it seems to me just not a good choice of plant for that situation. For potted plants it is relatively easy to remove aphids by holding the pot sideways under the tap and just giving the foliage a good rinse with your fingers.

If one keeps doing multiple things to the Plant, one is unlikely to be able to discover WHICH is working or not. I can't see in your pix what the problem is, but you mentioned it had been cold & you'd been watering too much. The combination of cold & wet can be deadly to many succulents. If it's cold then don't water. Here's where the succulent motto comes in: As to watering, when in doubt, don't No one has addressed what your mix is, perhaps it's not fast draining enough. Lastly, does the pot have a drainage hole? I'd check the drainage & then I'd leave the plant alone to recover for a while.

pirate_girl - this Euphorbia isn't a succulent. It's hardy European native plant.

I had an over watering problem. My "Little Helper" would water my succulents, when he watered my potted Japanese Maples. I caught it in time, we learn by doing( an hang out on Gardenweb).
