Thorny brambles

Shoukld thorny brambles get composted? Or are the thorns a problem?

Other thorny materials get composted. Is there something special about thorny brambles?

The thorns will break down. I shred and compost ironwood and mesquite and orange branches. The thorns survive the shredding, but they decay.

Cactus thorns, on the other hand, last for years in compost. I don't compost cactus.
