It's Japanese beetle season...

| Is there any reason not to dump the beetles from the trap into the compost? I really enjoy burying the evil little things... |

Randal, I would definitely make sure they are D-E-A-D before doing that -- otherwise you might have some "grubby" surprises in your compost Sunny |

| It certainly is. I have been using a bucket w/ soapy water and knocking them into it. I've been getting about 10 or more a day and limiting the damage they did while I was on vacation. |

| I think they would be an excellent addition. Dead insects are great for feeding plants. According to a NOVA documentary I watched, the trees in the US show phenomenal growth in the years of the 17 year cicada rising compared to other years. Of course, part of that could be aeration of the roots. NOVA seemed convinced it was a fertilizing effect. |
