 o
corner brackets material

I will need to re-do my raised bed garden. The layout, the pathways, and most importantly - the beds. We started off using pine logs which we had A LOT of due to house construction. They served well for 5 years. But that was very labor intense and we don't want to do this anymore. So I am looking for a long lasting materials. So far the opinion is to use non-treated lumber (cedar, or cheaper alternative - pine) and something to brace the corners. We don't mind re-placing lumber as needed after 5-10 years.

I was reading Country Gardens latest issue and they had a picture of someone's raised beds with these brackets:

They come in different heights, designs. Sounds good, flexible as to the size of bed you can use them for. Made in USA with recycled steel. Do any of you have experience with these? Do you think this is worth the cost? Lumber might have to be replaced after a while, but the braces should last lifetime.

RE: corner brackets material

They look nice.. but pricy for what they are.

There you a ton of ways to secure the corners.. from simple builder's brackets from the hardware store... to purposed corner raised bed brackets.... to just driving into the ground vertical pieces of wood on the inside corners and lengths and then securing it from there. That way you wouldn't see anything at all from the outside view.
