Shredded leaves from last fall has Bermuda grass growing on top

I shredded and vacuumed my oak leaves last fall, and I just piled them up on the edge of my woods. I'm getting ready to plant my fall garden and was planning to use the leaves for mulch. I went out there and The leaves are covered with Bermuda grass!

I have a big tractor and I can turn them over with the plow and let them sit a while or all winter. Should I just buy some mulch and keep turning the leaves for next spring or what? I don't want to add more Bermuda grass to my garden.

Those leaves must be fairly well digested and in the leaves there must have been mixed some roots from Bermuda grass for it to be growing there. Mixing them up, several times, will eventually kill the grass roots.

The grass was already there, it grew up over the leaf pile. I turned it with my tractor several times. I'll just keep turning it over the winter and add more leaves this fall.
