| I am an Industrial Design student at Kendall College of Art and Design. I am making a product to aid composting. If you have a few minutes of time please take my survey for class. It would be greatly helpful. I will be entering my project in the Housewares show in chicago this spring. Thanks.

| Your link seems to go to survey monkey's site, but there does not appear to be a way to find your particular survey. Clicking on anythng but the commercial stuff leads back to your post on Gardenweb Good luck with your project though |

| I had no problem taking the survey.... here are the questions (and my answers). 1. Composting can be easy, however, what can be most difficult or stressful about it? Even if its just a little thing that annoys you, what is it? Think about your process you use from beginning to end. What don't you like about it. Any answer will be helpful. My Answer: fencing it off... to keep my dogs out. 2. How often do you mix your compost? What do you use? My Answer: every two weeks when i mow my yard. I use a pitchfork to turn pile 3. Where is your compost located? Do you like looking at it? My Answer: backyard, next to my vegetable garden. I do like looking it. 4. Once your compost is fertile. What do you use to place it in our garden? My Answer: I use a pitchfork to place it in garden. 5. How do your scraps get to your compost? My Answer: I put kitchen scraps in a 5 gallon bucket that's outside my back door. when i mow (every two weeks) I empty the bucket. 6. Most people are unaware of the "how to" process of composting. What would you think would be most helpful to them? My Answer: If they knew it takes almost no effort to make "better than miracle-gro" soil. 7. Please describe your composting process from beginning to end? What tools or products might you use to aid you? My Answer: i rake leaves into one a mound near my garden. I then make a compost pile, with some of the leaves, all lawn clippings, kitchen scraps, manure (free from craigslist) and garden trimmings. |
