 o
Paper shredder that will handle light cardboard ?

I can get all the beer boxes that I can haul from a local store. They are thin cardboard, is there a paper shredder under $100 that would shred them for mulch?

Any of them that are 10 sheets capacity or more do a fine job.

I told my GF that I was going to Wal-Mart to buy a paper shredder. She said why? I have a brand new one that someone gave me! It is only a 4 sheet, I gave it a try and it will cut the beer boxes! It may not last long but what the heck, it was free!

I've shredded four 40 gallon trash bags full so far. I have been giving it time to cool between shreds. I basically just stick one in whenever I walk by it. It sometimes strains a little when I put in the part of the box that overlaps.

I've been wondering if it will hurt my chipper shredder to shred cardboard and newspapers with it?

Cardboard would probably go through a chipper shredder easier than newspapers. I would start with a small amount and work up from there. It may not seem like paper would be a problem, but have you ever tried tearing a phone book? :-]
