Where to get grass clippings

I live in Arizona, and we don't really have the benefit of falls leaves here, or greens for that matter.

I found a driving range here that had a little bit of grass. The old stuff I have been using as browns, if you get there after they just cut it, you can get some nice freshly cut green grass. Went inside and they said I could have as much as I want. Towards the center it is starting to break down a little bit, but lack of water and occasional turning has pretty much stagnated the process.

Thought I might post this because I know I had trouble finding stuff for my heap but now I got all that I will need.

I'd be really wary of golf clubs: they're notorious for using systemic pesticides that could wreck your garden for ages.
Maybe ask some searching questions before using clippings on the garden...

Many, if not most, golf courses are treated with a broad array of herbicides. I would be very cautious.

Some of those gold courses use pyridine family herbicides and these are very persistant. An article in the Oct/Nov 2011 issue of Organic Gardening magazine points out the problems these products bring about.

Having been involved with many golf courses (as a consultant) for years, I'd suggest that you don't even bother to ask what kind of chemicals they use on the grass. I'd simply not use it at all. Fungicides, insecticides, herbicides, miticides, nematicides, etc. They can legally use chemicals never labeled for public use. Some are contact poisons while others systemic.
