| i keep my compost indoor mainly because it was only a 4 gallon tub and it was an experiment to see what i was doing wrong since i was new at composting.
anyways just not i emptied out the 4 gallon bucket and surpringly i found a single worm. it was redish pink looked mostly pale. not sure if it is a red wiggler as those are illegal in my state idk why. the bin it was in was on my floor and it had no hole on the bottom or the middle it had holes at the surface for air and i would turn it once a week. so im wondering how the hell did it get into my bin in the first place and do you think it will last if my bin is mostly coffee grounds and tea grounds and newspaper? that is what it's in right now i'll be adding more fruit scraps later on but i mean 1 worm alone i doubt can breed by itself. but if their is a slight chance their is an eggsac or something i picked up i mean it wouldn't hurt to actually make it a good home for them. |

| There is the possibility that on something you added to the material put into that container had a worm egg on it and the conditions in that container become good enough to allow that egg to finish development and hatch. |

| That's what I was thinking, perhaps a vegetable peeling with a little soil attached. Or, maybe it was spontaneous wormbustion! |

| ".....it was an experiment to see what i was doing wrong since i was new at composting...." If you are new to composting you would find it a lot easier outdoors. Such a small amount inside the house is about the hardest introduction you could give yourself. A larger outdoor heap or container would be much easier for a beginner. It can rot fast or slow but it can't go 'wrong'. |

| Spontaneous wormbustion! LOL :) |
