Can I compost the St Augustine Grass that died this summer? I never saw any chinch bugs but don't really know if it was brown spot or what that killed the grass.

Is St. Augustine one of those invasive spreading grasses like Bermuda? If so, make sure it's good and dead before putting it into a compost pile. Good and dead, then kill it again. :-]

Saint Augustine composts just fine. It does slowly spread, but only on top of the ground in a manner that is nowhere near the evil that is Bermuda Grass. I don't even try to compost the Bermuda. It goes into the garbage can.
