Is the wingdigger an effective compost tool, or is just dumping the pile out and repiling it the best option? Have to admit, the tool looks as if it would be worth its wieght if it works.

Re-piling is always one of the best options for active composting but it is more work. The wingdigger I have is effective for what it claims to do (mix, fluff and aerate). I can see where shorter or not quite as able people might have difficulty using the unit. I'd lend you mine to see if you liked it if you were closer. ;-)

If you have an extra $14.00 to $25.00 laying around that you do not know what to do with this might be something to spend it on, but turning your compost into another pile or bin and getting the material on the outside into the center is better, and doing so is a fairly good cardio exercise (healthy).

Looking at the design of it...I kinda thought that this would happen just by using the tool. But if it gets the thumbs down from people here, I will shovel and turn...lol.
