shredder/chipper for vines and more

I've been looking at shredder / chippers and find that many do not do a good job with vines. Morning glory vines are a primary issue right now. Some grape vines. Leaves, small branches also. Any shredder / chipper recommendations - especially ones that do vines? I would prefer electric, but would consider gas.

Just about anything that goes around is going to be a problem with fibrous material. The fibrous stuff doesn't get chopped and it winds around the turning feature of whatever device you're using.

Your in inland in So Cal. Chop the stuff up some while it's still green and let it desiccate in the sun. The lawn mowers and chippers will work just fine after that.

Chop while it's green. It's lots easier then. Hedge clippers, loppers, whatever - just chop.

Morning Glory vines are a challenge. I've found that what works for me is to leave them on the trellis, or what ever, through the winter. Then, in early spring, they fall apart in my hands as I pull them off the supports. It seems to me that they get brittle and crumble more easily after exposure to drying sun and wind. I've not tried to shred them with a machine at any point, though, so my experience may not be helpful to you. And some can't bear the messy look of dead vines all winter, which I can certainly understand. Good luck.
