Ahhh! Finally some finished product!

I started composting last spring (2011) and am one of those lazy composters lol. I don't turn or water down, I let nature do it's thing I guess. I have 3 piles 4 x 4 x 4 stacked together. One has unfinished stuff, another part done and the last of finished compost. I had added ucg, tons of shredded fall leaves, straw, veggie leftovers, garden veggie scraps, crushed egg shells, etc. My finished stuff was awesome! Black gold, earthy smelling, light and fluffy, and ready to go. So I spread it out over the beds about an inch or two thick (had to spread thinly due to lack of loads of finished product). I'll let it sit all winter long.

Wonderful! However since at one time I was a lazy composter also I will warn you - you might be tempted to turn and tend those compost piles so you can produce more! I used to make one pile a year and harvest a small amount which never seemed enough. Now I have 2 finished piles each year by turning and tending. I'm not sure if it's enough yet, is there *ever* enough compost! LOL I'm thinking that the woods surrounding my yard could benefit from compost. And I have *a lot* of woods surrounding my fenced yard! LOL Maybe I need an intervention.
