Cause of blue-hued seedlings

I work on a small farm and we have just expanded one of our fields and planted a cover crop for the winter. All of it is growing well except for a circle near the middle and a trail leading off of the circle. Within this spot, no seeds have germinated. Where the trail leads off, a few seeds are growing, but all have a strange blueish hue and are slightly more limp. I think it is some sort of soil contamination, but I cannot find any information on the subject. Ideas or leads to an answer are greatly appreciated!

RE: Cause of blue-hued seedlings

1. what's the cover crop? blue coloration could be due to number of factors. the limp appearance and regular occurance are more likely to be indicative, but of what?

2. i assume you can rule out other factors, such as an underground seep that can cause a small area to be too wet? a generally limp appearance is usually indicative of too much moisture. chemical contamination usually presents with distorted growth, nutrient excess or difficiency is usually yellowish or purplish in coloration.

really should know what the cover crop is.
