| Sorry for the cross post, but I can't get any satisfaction over in the seed saving forum.
I have an avocado pit that triple sprouted. Is this common? i can't even think of what it means, biologically! Triplets? |

| Turns out there's multiple embryos in an avocado seed. See http://jhered.oxfordjournals.org/content/35/7/209.extract You'll locate plenty of info using your favorite search engine with the search phrase "multiple stems from avocado seed" but without the quotes. |
Here is a link that might be useful: multiple embryos

| I'm curious where you are going to plant this avocado tree? You're in zone 7. Don't you get some freezing? I'm in z 8-8.5 and I get freezes. I have heard of an avocado tree downtown that's something like 60 YO! That is downtown, though, where it's all cement that holds in the heat. They may not get significant frost. Just curious! Nancy |

| Do you have room for a tree that size or is it a house plant? |
|
| Right now I have it inside until the spring. |
