Corn cob kitty litter

My ancient kitty has become senile and has gone from being totally an outside kitty to a mostly indoor kitty, so I've had to go out and buy him a cat box and all of the fixins (hopefully he'll remember how to use them!)
I bought some litter that is made of corn cobs and is touted as 100% biodegradable. I'll be tossing the poops out into the field, but will it be OK to toss the little urine balls I scoop out into the compost?
Nancy
