soil test results

Hi, I posted about not being able to grow a hemlock and wondered about my soil PH being a problem. It turns out that the Ph where the tree was is 6.2 low in calcium but okay with mag, pot and really high in phos. And the lower area where I want to grow acid lovers is too much calcium, too much phosphate, good pot and mag with a Ph of 6.7. So in order to plant veg above where the hemlock was in the general area I need to lime and below I need sulfur. The area where the lime will go isn't within 20ft of where the hemlock seed will go.This was a professional soil test not a store bought kit. So the hemlock ph thing isn,t the issue. There is more organic matter where the 6.2 ph is. Could the hemlock need lots of calcium? And will gypsum give calcium with no ph change?

The Eastern, or Canadian, Hemlock does quite well in good soils well endowed with organic matter with a soil pH in the 6.0 to 6.8 range while the Mountain Hemlock seems to do better in a sparser soil although the soil pH should also be in about that range.
Nutrients should be in balance.

Thanks for the reply Kimmsr. It's good to know Ph is okay, it is Can hemlock seed. As far as the calcium I will try gypsum. There is lots of OM in the area, I've mulched with leaves and pine needles in that area. I am going to be gone til Dec 1 so I won't be getting any more messages on here til then. So thanks for your help. Poaky1
