| This is a random post, but I just had to come here because I knew you guys would understand!
I haven't been able to actively maintain my compost for about 18 months because I was pregnant (and exhausted) and then busy with the baby (and exhausted) but things are finally settling down, and I have a certain tree that needs a little composty love, so tonight I went out there to see if I had anything at the bottom of my bins. Oh, I'd forgotten how beautiful worm compost is! All those millions of perfect little granules of dirt sliding against each other, mixed with shredded twigs holding six times their weight in water, crushed egg shells, renegade seeds. I just think it's so lovely! I even enjoy picking out the non-organic stuff that sneaks in and needs to be "weeded out"--fruit labels, nylon fibers, plastic windows from envelopes. What a great hobby we've chosen! And that is all I wanted to share with you. Hope you're enjoying your "dirt" as much as I am. |

| Congratulations!!!! You have worm compost in the South or North? I ask because I am in the South & we have fireants. They eat any & every thing. It is hard to raise worms in the south, because of the ants. How do you stop them. |
