I now know more than I did. I inch of top soil takes 500years! I can do that in 12 months & then some.99% of the food comes from land. daguvanuh,Thank You, that was fun & I learned something. How much Americans eat, was easy, the largest number. We are so blessed, we take it for grant, every day.

Well I got 4 out of 10 right, but some of those multiple-choice questions are a bit of a stretch. How am I supposed to know which middle eastern country has the most salinated soil, or exactly how fast China is losing its topsoil, especially when the difference in the answers is only about 10%? It was an interesting quiz though. Points out some alarming trends. It makes me wonder why on earth are we even considering using corn for ethanol (more $$$ for Monsanto?). And how about if Americans ate just 20% less food than they do now? How much topsoil (and other precious resources) would be conserved, how much less trash would be generated, how overall health would improve, how much less carbon dioxide would be emitted. Seems like a simple effort that would have a huge impact.

I thought the question that was answered corn would have been potatoes.. re deeper tillage but did not condider the mass acres invoved.. Interesting though isn't it.

We do some wonderful things in this country and we also do things that are a bafflement to me.Haul leaves and grass clippings out front then pay 4 or 5 dollars a bag for mulch ( or more )Scream at the price of bananas ( healty food ) and not bat an eye when we buy a cup of coffee for 2 or 3 dollars or more ... Healthy ? So on and so on .Happy soil building Johnny

It took 3 days for me to see I meant to say I got 4 out of 10 right...... not 4 of 6. Take the quiz, see if you get confused also...
