Meat pakage blotter

So I cut up some chicken today and while cleaning up I thought, why do I throw This into the garbage? Has anybody composted blotters? Does anybody know what they are made of now a days? If it was summer I would find out myself, I just don't care to wait till May to find out. Thanks.

Curt

Sorry, I finally found them under soaker pads. I seems like they are made of loose polyethylene. Needless to say they will not be put into my compost pile. Thanks all.

Some of these good people can go off the deep end with what to & what not to compost. But I believe that meat or blood soaked product are out. First it is not good because creatures will dig in your compost pile. You will get some of that anyways, no need to promote it.2nd the pathogen can end up in your food!Cooked bones can be put under a fruit tree, the boiling kills pathogens.

Especially after the thread about surprises in the compost. Scroll down for Lloyd's "solution."
