| Since the subject came up, I admit that I urinate occasionally on my compost pile. If nothing else, it adds a little nutrient to break up the browns better. |

| If it doesn't offgas first. That smell comes out of a jar of urine when you open the lid is nitrogen wafting away. IMHO it should be mixed with browns or put on the ground immediately so as not to lose nutrient value. |

| If you're referring to whether 'aged or fresh is better', I don't have enough knowledge to say. But as far as what I stated above, I can pretty much guarantee that stale urine smell contains a variety of nitrogen-containing volatile compounds. That's not just my opinion. |
