Slate??

| A while back I purchased some 12" slate tiles with the intention of using them as a kitchen backsplash. Well I've now changed my mind about that and have this slate sitting around. The tiles are about 1/2" thick. Is there any reason I can't use this slate outdoors in some way? Could they be used as stepping stones or a walkway if set like pavers or flagstone? Any other ideas come to mind? I only have about 35 of them, so I can't get too big. But I like them and want to use them somewhere!

A bit thin to bear foot traffic. Make a nice tabletop. |

| I agree that 1/2 inch thick slate could be a bit thin for foot traffic, but doesn't it depend on what the slate itself is lying on? If it were set in a substantial concrete bed, wouldn't it work just fine? |

| I think it would be slippery when wet. Wait isn't that a Bon Jovi Album? |
