Stone use in developing a garden

Here are three pictures - the first one shows some rocks soon after they were put in place, the second a few months later, and the third a few years later.

The garden's at the Horticulture Centre of the Pacific in Victoria, B.C.

Herb,
That is exceptional stone placement.
The white gravel representing water is a bit too stark for my personal tastes, but all in all this is a lovely piece of artisanship.

Thanks for posting it.

The placement of your large stones looks so natural, like they have been there forever.

Love the rock and natural framework. Wouldn't a river of cascading lobelia be wonderful in there?

I suppose you've visited Portland's Japanese garden? It's wonderful - and waterways are a major feature. And all rock gardeners must visit Chinese gardens where they can. I can take guests for free this year to our newer Classical Chinese garden. Incredible - any season...much better/radically different - compared to the larger one in Singapore. Just let me know if you want to meet there. Just bring a cool rock for MY little city garden.

Congrats on a super rock design!
