Looking to recycle concrete / tile wall pieces

I just finished tearing out my bathroom walls. These were original 50's tile walls - include a 2 inch thick concrete/morter wall over a wire mesh, tile set directly onto the concrete/morter. I have many pieces of wall left in multiple sizes. I want to find a way to recycle these, possibly as a patio or walkway. My concern is being able to make the pieces level as some have rough backs, some are smooth, some broken, some whole. . .
How do I get an underlayment that is able to help manage the differences in thickness?
Any help is appreciated.

I would first tamp down a layer of gravel about 4 inches thick and then lay another layer of sand or stone dust about 2 inches thick. After that is tamped level use some additional sand (if that is what you chose) to fill in voids where necessary. It will take some time but not that hard.
